Lily & Lotus Yoga

My practice is Hatha style yoga with a loose sequencing based around the Ashtanga series. Classes usually flow from breath opening and warm-ups through sun salutation variations with standing asanas to seated postures including twists and heart-openings before closing with gentle backbends, inversions, restorative postures and rest. 

There is a focus on slowing down and being inquisitive of how the posture feels in your body and this moment in time. We use the breath to deepen the stretch and unite the body and mind. I encourage the principle of finding stirha sukha asanam – finding a stead & strong yet comfortable & soft posture that allows the breath to flow freely and support you. It’s essentially finding that balance between effort and ease.
